What started as an online meet-cute between LJM Real Bride Kelsey, a Pediatric Nurse, and her now-husband Tyler, a Project Manager, grew into a long term, loving relationship between the two of them. Kelsey shares that when she saw Tyler’s online dating profile, she recognized some mutual friends from college in his photos and knew he had a great group of friends, laying the foundation for the beginning of their relationship!

Fast forward a few years, Tyler brought Kelsey to the Franklin Park Conservatory for a ‘date’, leaving Kelsey a bit suspicious. “I had an idea because we typically don’t just go to the conservatory on a random day”, shared our bride on her perspective leading up to the proposal. She also shared that Tyler knows how much she loves flowers, and wanted her to be surrounded by them when she said “yes”, and we couldn’t love this more!
After the two were engaged, it came time to begin planning a wedding! Kelsey began selecting vendors by scheduling meetings with them to ensure not only that their personalities meshed well together, but that they would be able to achieve her wedding day vision. She shares that one vendor in particular she’s grateful to have worked with is Meredith with Auburn & Ivory, along with Vessel Florals and Alterations by Carolyn, who created the bow at the back of her gown out of extra fabric to match the fabric of her dress exactly!

When it came time to begin her wedding dress shopping journey, our beautiful bride shared that she chose to shop with La Jeune Mariee because she was a longtime lover of bridal fashion and had always dreamt of trying on a Vera Wang bridal gown, one of the designers we’re proud to carry!
At her appointment, Kelsey worked with our expert stylist Annmarie, and ended up saying YES to Vera Wang Jocelyn! When her gown arrived from the designer and Kelsey came in for her Meet the Gown appointment, she completed her walk-down-the-aisle look with Toni Federici Heaven, a timeless cathedral length veil.

As Kelsey reflected on her bridal appointment, she shared that the gown she chose very closely aligned with her original vision. “I knew I wanted fitted and I really wanted a bow so Carolyn Fang made me a custom bow to go with my dress”.
Once her key vendors and wedding dress were secured, it came time to start planning the design and details of their big day! Her favorite elements included their wedding monogram, peonies in her wedding bouquet that were reminiscent of what her grandma had in her wedding florals, and Tyler wore white, matching what her grandpa and his dad wore on their own wedding days. We love the addition of these timeless yet sentimental details!

As Kelsey made her way further into wedding planning, she shared that she was inspired by the timelessness and classic elegance of Sofia Richie’s wedding day, but loved making tweaks to her vision to incorporate elements that were personal to their relationship, despite when making constant decisions became overwhelming.
After months of planning, the big day had finally arrived! Kelsey shared that everything came out perfectly, and her favorite memory from the day was her first dance with Tyler, “I loved starting off our married life with our first dance in front of all our closest family and friends”.

As Kelsey looked back on her wedding day and all the planning that lead up to it, she shared some advice for future brides: “Everything will end up perfect and to just let things fall in place, it’s all worth it! And also to go with your gut when you are making decisions you know each other the best!”
