What started as a meeting between two mutual friends at BrewDog in 2018, blossomed into a loving relationship between our LJM Real Bride Halle, a Senior Accountant, and her now-husband Ian, Senior Manager of Business Development. After dating until 2023, Ian decided it was time to pop the question to Halle. Halle shares that she had absolutely no idea it was going to happen – “He proposed August 11th, 2023! We were heading to the Ohio State Shoe Stadium for a concert and as we were walking in, he got down on one knee and surprised me!”, shares our beautiful bride.

After saying yes and taking on the title ‘fiancé’, it came time to start planning a wedding! Halle shares that she chose to shop with LJM to find the dress of her dreams because she loved that we had a stunning selection within her price point, and also had plenty of friends who had found their dream dress with us.
At her bridal appointment, Halle worked with our team of expert stylists to bring her wedding day vision to life. She ended up saying YES to Willowby by Watters Cavalier – a modern yet timeless sheath-style gown featuring a corseted bodice, off-the-shoulder straps, and a sleek train. Our beautiful bride shared that Cavalier was exactly what she pictured saying yes to, and we love that we were able to bring her vision to life!
As Halle embarked on more wedding planning, she shares that she found the majority of her vendors through Instagram, while also taking recommendations from friends + family to build her trusted list. When asked if she had a particular vendor she’d like to shout out, she shared that it was her photographer: “Kylah Brooke Photography. She was amazing! Exceeding all of my expectations”.
Since she considers herself a planner, Halle opted not to work with a wedding planner or day-of coordinator for their big day, and instead took on the challenge of planning it all herself! “I am a huge planner, and an extremely organized person. I loved doing the whole thing myself, but honestly seeing the vision come to life was the best part”. And while Halle loved seeing her full vision come to life after long months of planning, our bride did admit that taking on the planning of her wedding was hard at times. Her advice? “Create a checklist and do something every week! If you’re not doing something, then you WILL be stressed the month of your wedding running around. Everyone kept telling me the month of the wedding you’ll be so stressed, and I was completely fine! I had all my vendor meetings and final dress fittings and that was about it, I wasn’t racing around to get stuff done. Enjoy the process! Don’t stress!”
As the big day drew closer, Halle placed the finishing touches on the plans for her wedding day, noting that she didn’t necessarily take inspiration from any one place or wedding, sharing that she took bits and pieces of what she loved and made it her own! When the day finally arrived, our bride tells us that one of the most special moments were her first looks with her husband, dad, and bridesmaids: “I didn’t show anyone my dress until the day of so it was truly a surprise for everyone and the tears were flowing. It was so special”.
Another sentimental and special detail of Halle’s wedding day were the earrings she wore. She shares that her grandma had passed them down, and they had once belonged to her late aunt, whom she never met. Her aunt wore them on her wedding day, and Halle’s grandmother gave them to her as a priceless addition to her bridal look, which is truly so special.
