After having to postpone their wedding twice due to all things 2020, Collin & Hillary were finally able to have the wedding of their dreams. Located at the Westin Southern Columbus, the day was romantic & magical.
When you know, you know. Collin & Hillary met through mutual friends at a bar following a concert they had both separately attended.
“We hit it off right away, and at the end of the night, he asked if I would want to go to the second day of the concert with him. I didn’t say yes right away. I gave him my phone number and told him he could text me the next day if he really wanted me to go. The next day I received a text from him asking me again to come to the concert. I walked in and the rest of the night was history. I had even texted my best friend mid-way through the concert saying ‘I’m on a date and I’m going to marry him’.”
Hillary wore a gorgeous Blush by Hayley Paige gown with a classic Toni Federici veil.
“I had gone to La Jeune Mariee with an old coworker back in 2015 to her dress fitting. I hadn’t even thought about marriage at the time because Collin and I had only been dating a few months. I remember walking in and just being in awe at how beautiful the gowns were. When I finally started to think about weddings, I began to look into designers and LJM happened to carry my favorite designer, Hayley Paige. I was so excited to go try on dresses and had the best experience. My stylist was so knowledgeable and super helpful. Having lost my mom a few months before, wedding dress shopping was pretty emotional for me. I brought my mom’s sister to shop with me and it was an emotional moment for her too, and the people at La Jeune Mariee made it a special day.”
“Collin proposed on December 27th, 2018. My mom had just passed away from cancer 2 months prior and it had been an all around tough year. We were spending Christmas apart, so Collin had promised that him and I would celebrate Christmas together and do a nice dinner celebration when I returned. He made a reservation at The Avenue in Grandview which was always our go-to spot for special occasions. At the end of dinner we had ordered desert. While waiting for the desert to come out we were deep in conversation until the waiter came out and set this large plate down in front of me. On the plate, it read in chocolate “will you marry me?”. I was so caught off guard and convinced the waiter had brought the plate on accident to the wrong table. Next thing I knew, Collin was down on one knee in front of me. We had gone to dinner around 5pm so there weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant at the time so it felt very intimate. Afterwards, he had arranged for all of our friends and family to surprise me across the street at Grandview cafe to celebrate together.”
After postponing their wedding twice, Collin and Hillary got legally married on their original wedding day & had their celebration almost a year after.
“Finally getting to have our day, be able to wear my dress, walk down the aisle with my dad, and spend the day with all 210 of our favorite people made it all worth it.”
