1 // WEAR SOMETHING COMFORTABLE
Many brides question what to wear while wedding dress shopping. Make sure you wear what you feel comfortable in, as your stylist will be in the fitting room with you! Whether that’s a strapless bra, Spanx, or none of the above, wearing underwear is always a must. Some bridal gowns can be a bit sheer, so wearing nude colored undergarments is best!
2 // COME WITH AN OPEN MIND
It’s always a good idea to do a bit of bridal research before your appointment & have some inspiration. But, have an open mind & be open to trying on different silhouettes! You never know what you might fall in love with. Trust your stylist!
3 // EAT SOMETHING BEFORE SHOPPING
It sounds crazy, but trying on lots of dresses can be exhausting! You’re standing the whole time while hopping in & out of gowns. Being hangry can change your mood & make your experience less enjoyable. Your appointment will last two hours, so make sure you fit in a snack before coming in!
4 // IGNORE THE SIZES
Once we’ve taken your measurements and explained bridal sizing, please don’t get caught up in the number! Your dress size will typically be different than the size you normally wear, as bridal sizing runs small. Go with the flow and pretend that the numbers don’t exist!
5 // DON’T OVERBOOK YOURSELF
FOMO is real, and some brides feel they need to go to 10 different bridal stores just to make sure they didn’t miss anything. But going multiple places can be extremely overwhelming! Here’s the thing: if you feel great in the gown, it has everything you asked for and you don’t want to take it off, chances are you’ve found THE one!
