Some love stories unfold slowly over time, while others feel certain almost immediately. For Alissa and Ryan, it only took one date to know they had found something special. It started as a simple Hinge match, and as Alissa puts it, “the rest is history!”
Their relationship continued to grow naturally, filled with the kind of connection that made forever feel easy to imagine. Still, despite knowing Ryan had the ring tucked away for nearly eight months, Alissa never quite knew when the proposal would happen. She tried to stop guessing, but the anticipation was impossible to ignore.
During a birthday getaway to Hocking Hills, Ryan finally surprised her with the proposal she had been waiting for. Inside a cozy treehouse surrounded by nature, he asked Alissa to marry him, creating a moment that felt intimate, romantic, and perfectly suited to the two of them. Though she suspected it might happen soon, the timing and setting still caught her by surprise in the best possible way.
As the couple began planning their October 17, 2025 wedding, Alissa envisioned a celebration that felt timeless, romantic, and deeply personal. Inspired by classic black-and-white styling, candlelight, lush greenery, and white florals, the couple focused on creating an atmosphere that felt elegant, yet warm and inviting.
When it came time to find her wedding dress, Alissa chose La Jeune Mariee because of the boutique’s exceptional customer experience and carefully curated selection of bridal gowns. Working alongside stylist Brynn, she found herself saying “yes” to a gown that completely surprised her.
Alissa chose Cassel by Dany Tabet with the matching overskirt, a look that ended up being very different from what she originally imagined herself wearing before bridal shopping. The gown gave her the perfect balance of modern romance and dramatic elegance, while the removable overskirt created an unforgettable transformation throughout the day. In fact, one of Alissa’s favorite wedding details was the change in her bridal look. Between removing the overskirt and changing her hairstyle during the reception, she loved being able to create multiple bridal moments throughout the celebration.
While Alissa states that dress shopping was easily her favorite part of wedding planning, she admits the final stretch of organizing details came with a few stressful moments. Like many brides, she worried about overlooking something important as the big day approached. Her advice to future brides is to start early, stay organized, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
The couple celebrated their wedding at Everhart Gathering Place in North Central Ohio, surrounded by family, friends, glowing candlelight, and stunning florals that brought their vision to life. Alissa worked with The Violet Parrot for florals, and the end result exceeded every expectation. From the greenery-filled designs to the soft white blooms woven throughout the space, every arrangement added to the timeless, romantic atmosphere they had envisioned.
One unexpected gift on their wedding day was the weather. October in Ohio can often be unpredictable, but the couple experienced absolutely perfect conditions, making the entire day feel even more magical.
When reflecting on her favorite memory from the wedding, Alissa immediately thinks back to walking down the aisle and seeing Ryan’s reaction. She says that watching his face light up with an immediate smile is a moment she’ll never forget.
