Our favorite time of the year is back – Market Season! Our buying team has just returned from the National Bridal Market in Chicago and Bridal Fashion Week in NYC, where they explored the Spring/Summer 2025 Collections from Watters, Paloma Blanca, Mikaella and Calla Blanche, and Fall/Winter 2025 Collections from Netta BenShabu, Dany Tabet, Nicole + Felicia, Ines Di Santo, Monique Lhuillier, Rivini, Mark Ingram, Leah Da Gloria, and more. We even got a chance to visit a few of our accessory designers to view trending veils and other bridal accessories. While the trends we adore are still around, they’ve received a fresh upgrade. Basque Waists
The basque waist refers to a bodice of a dress that hugs the silhouette and often extends past the natural waistline, featuring two angled seams that create a slight triangle when they meet. The basque waist has been around since the Victorian age, but is now coming back stronger than ever in recent bridal styles. This flattering waistline elongates your torso, draws attention upward and gently cinches your waist for a snatched look and feel!
Drop Waists
Very similar to the basque waist, a drop waist wedding dress also refers to that with an extended bodice. Drop waists may be a bit more exaggerated in length, and usually have a straight or slightly curved join line, as opposed to the angled join line on a basque waist. This silhouette also shapes and snatches the torso while creating a dramatic silhouette, often leading into a full ball gown or a-line skirt!
Lace
Lace is a timeless bridal detail that comes and goes in popularity. Recently, we’ve noticed a resurgence of lace in the bridal scene, showcasing everything from classic to contemporary styles in various sizes. It pairs beautifully with any bridal silhouette and can be styled to create a wide range of bridal looks!
Corsets
Corsets go hand in hand with the basque and drop waists, shown above! Our team observed a rise in gowns featuring exposed boning and corsetry, embracing a sultry, lingerie-inspired aesthetic. Corsets not only offer additional support for the bodice but also enhance the dimension and detail of various wedding dresses, from clean and classic to bold and modern.
Halter Necklines
Since Sofia Richie’s wedding last summer, halter necklines have surged in popularity in bridal fashion! Whether paired with sleek or intricately detailed gowns, halter necklines evoke an Old Hollywood glamour. They can be styled with a sultry low back or a classic high neck, often accented by timeless covered buttons.
Sparkle + Beading
While simple, clean styles have been at the forefront of bridal trends over the past few years, detail is starting to creep back in! Sparkle isn’t any different, and we saw so many eye-catching takes on this trend. From all-over delicate beading, shown above, or ball gowns in full sparkle, if you’re a bride-to-be who loves the bling, you’re in luck!
Pearls
Going hand-in-hand with sparkles and beading, pearls are here to stay! We know, we know – pearls have been around for a few seasons, but they’re here for a reason. Pearls are a timeless bridal detail, and add the perfect amount of shimmer to any bridal look.
Ball Gowns
If 2025 wedding dress trends have shown us anything so far, it’s that full skirts aren’t going anywhere! Ball gowns and basque/drop waists are a match made in heaven, so it makes sense to see these two rising in popularity together this season. Ball gowns are perfect for the bride looking for an unforgettable and truly ‘bridal’ feel on their big day!
Black Dresses
Black gowns have been rising in popularity on the bridal landscape over the past few seasons, and this year we saw quite a few gowns with black elements included! Designers are playing with contrasting tones by adding florals, color blocking and removable elements, perfect for the non-traditional bride-to-be!
Detachable Elements
Along with unique features like colorblocking, corsets, and dropped waistlines, our team noticed a rise in gowns with detachable elements this season. Detachable pieces included lace jackets, sleeves, scarves + corsets, giving you the perfect two-in-one option for your ceremony and reception!
