Another New York Bridal Fashion week has come and gone, and we couldn’t be more excited about the 2024 wedding dress trends we’ll be bringing back from NYC to our Midwest brides! Designers like Netta BenShabu, Studio Levana, Monique Lhuillier, Ines Di Santo, and many, many more showcased their newest designs, and we have a feeling you won’t want to miss these. Basque Waists
If you’re not familiar with a basque waist, it refers to a bodice of the dress that hugs the silhouette and often extends past the natural waistline, creating a slight cover over the hips. Most basque waists also feature two angled seams that form a flattering triangular shape at the bottom of the dropped-waist bodice. This unique style looks great on many different body types, and helps to elongate your silhouette, draw attention upwards, and gently shape your torso. We saw this 2024 wedding dress trend paired with both sleek + textured fabrics, often above a full skirt for a dramatic and fashion-forward bridal look.
Lace
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – lace is BACK! From traditional, dainty Chantilly lace, to more modern 3D embroidered lace, we saw this stunning fabric in almost every designer’s new collection. Enlarged roses, dimensional beading and botanical details caught our eye, often paired with other trendy details like pearls, bows, basque waists and corsets!
Bows
Whether it’s an oversized statement at the back of your gown, a delicate tie at your waist, or a colorful addition to your wedding veil, bows are here to stay in the 2024 bridal landscape! Designers like Ines Di Santo, Netta BenShabu, Mark Ingram and Galia Lahav flaunted bows in their latest collections, ranging in color from classic ivory to cornflower blue, and in size from dramatic and statement-making to a small, sweet detail on the gown.
Pearls
If there’s one thing we learned while in New York for Bridal Fashion Week, it’s that pearl accents + details aren’t going anywhere when it comes to 2024 wedding dress trends! In fact, they’re the main attraction on some of our favorite gowns. Placed intentionally in a geometric pattern or scattered beautifully through a dress, these sweet, shimmering details have a way of elevating the simplest of bridal looks to something unforgettable yet timeless.
Convertible Dresses / Removable Pieces
Want an outfit change without having to change your wedding day outfit? You’re in luck, because removable elements on wedding dresses are alive and well! Exposed Corsetry
Another detail that’s here to stay as we head into 2024 is exposed corseting. Boning in the bodice of your gown helps to keep you feeling secure + snatched, and many designers have opted for an exposed look. This daring detail adds a sultry touch to your bridal look, and works with any wedding gown silhouette!
Non-Traditional Colors
If you’re a bride-to-be hoping for a colorful or non-traditional gown, you’ll love this last last trend! Blues, pinks, greens and blacks donned the runways at New York Bridal Fashion Week, and we love that unqiue styles are becoming more and more popular in bridal fashion.
