Some love stories seem to take off from the very first date. For Cheyanne and Brandon, the couple met in Cleveland in fall 2023, and their first date lasted an impressive six hours. It didn’t take long to realize they had found something special, and they’ve been together ever since.
Just a few months later, Brandon was already planning a proposal, but he managed to keep the entire thing a secret. In March 2024, he and Cheyanne’s maid of honor transformed the courtyard at the Fairmont Scottsdale hotel with flowers and candles, creating an intimate setting — with what ended up being the couple’s first dance song playing in the background. Before dinner, Brandon got down on one knee, and Cheyanne was completely surprised.
As they began planning their June 2026 wedding at The Shoreby Club in Cleveland, Ohio, Cheyanne found herself enjoying the creative side of the process most. Developing the aesthetic for the day and working alongside her planner to bring that vision to life was her favorite part of watching the celebration take shape. Her only complaint? How quickly the entire process goes by.
When it came time to find her wedding dress, La Jeune Mariee stood out for its wide variety of designers and highly personalized experience. Cheyanne wanted something more than a traditional dress shopping appointment, and she found exactly that while working with stylist Brynn. Ultimately, she said yes to Normandy by Netta BenShabu, styled with the Toni Federici Paloma veil and a Paris by Debra Moreland necklace for the reception. Sometimes, the dress that feels most right is the one you never expected to choose. For Cheyanne, wedding dress shopping gave her the opportunity to step outside her initial vision and discover a gown that felt even more fitting for her wedding day.
Beyond finding her dress, some of Cheyanne’s favorite parts of planning were designing the overall aesthetic and collaborating with her planner, A Charming Fête, to bring every element together. She relied on her planner’s experience at The Shoreby Club to help select vendors who knew the venue well, creating a team that could execute the vision she had been building throughout the engagement.
One vendor she especially recommends is Rege Studio, whose stationery caught Cheyanne’s attention through social media. She loved the studio’s unique and thoughtful approach and had an especially positive experience bringing her paper goods to life.
On the wedding day, one of the couple’s most memorable moments happened at the reception. Cheyanne and Brandon took the microphone and began singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” with their friends and family joining in around them. It quickly became a full-room celebration, with everyone singing and dancing together.
The couple also found a creative way to get their guests involved with custom tambourines. Cheyanne and Brandon handed them out during the reception, and the addition quickly had guests on the dance floor. It was one of those small details that made a big impact on the atmosphere of the evening.
And then came one final surprise from the day itself: the sunset. The couple had spent the entire wedding day with cloudy skies as they celebrated beside the lake. But just as the dance floor opened, the clouds gave way to an incredible sunset over the water. The sky transformed just as the party was getting started, creating an unforgettable backdrop for the evening.
Looking back, Cheyanne’s advice for other #LJMRealBrides is to soak in every moment. From the months of planning to the wedding day itself, she knows firsthand just how quickly it all passes.
